Montañita

Montañita is a town of Santa Elena Peninsula, which has become a popular destination for surfers from around the world. Takes it´s name for being located in a cove surrounded by mountains and vegetation at the seashore. Its waves, its golden sands and tropical greenery make this place a Paradise Beach.

This is the capital of surf in Ecuador thanks to its ocean currents. One of the most outstanding places is La Punta, a coral background located to the north of the village´s center.

Montañita has a bohemian touch that attracts millions of tourists from all over the world each year. You can find a large number of bars, casual dining, vendors of crafts or fires that are seen along the beach. This Ecuadorian beach is an obligatory stop for any tourist.
